I know, I know, I've not been blogging enough. Sorry about that, but I've been stupendously busy recently. I'll do better, I promise!

Anyhoo, today comes news of one of the stupidest Facebook comments I have ever seen. Seriously, this is pretty much the dumbest fucking thing anyone could have written, let alone a Democrat State Representative from New Hampshire:

Yes, that's right, "Anime is a prime example of why two nukes just wasn't enough". Apparently, certain Democrat politicians feel that Japanese people should again be subjected to the horrors of nuclear annihilation for creating something that they don't like. Suffice to say, apart from a bit of local coverage, this has gotten very little attention from the media-at-large. I wonder if that would have been the case had Nickolas Levasseur been a Republican?

I never used to like Anime either. I found it annoying and irritating, but I never felt that justified the use of nuclear weapons and besides, my other half successfully managed to convert me quite soon after we met by pointing out that there is more to Anime than Pokemon and porn. In the words of Inspector Himura:

There are also cool robots like in Gundam Seed:

And while I admit that there is a disturbing propensity for drawing large-breasted young ladies in either swimwear or small revealing outfits:

On the whole I think the whole genre is fairly harmless - certainly not something that justifies some kind of nuclear holocaust!

And before anyone asks, yes this was just an excuse to put up a load of entirely gratuitous anime pictures!
